Dance Photography - Passion Project | Baton Rouge Family Photographer

So I've been wanting to share this with you for a while, and finally getting to it.

For those of you who don't know me personally, I'm a bunhead.  Big, no HUGE, bunhead.  What's that?  Well, you see, I danced for many years.  Into my college days and had dreams of making it my career.  When I was in high school and college, I lived in the ballet studio.

Well, I wasn't able to continue dancing past the age of 19.  Once I stopped, I always wanted to find a way to incorporate the art for into my life.  I still love to attend performances, and even on occasion attend a ballet class.  The dance studio is my happy place where I can really let everything go and enjoy myself.

Lucky for me, I've been able to work a bit with my old ballet company.  When the stars align, I get back to my hometown and photograph their performances.  These are a few highlights from their last season.

Om my goodness, such talent!!!  I'm always amazed when I go through the thousands of images I get during their performances.  It also brings back such fond memories.

I also spent a day with them this summer taking some pictures for their season marketing materials.  It was truly a blast.  Exhausting too being super pregnant at the time.

If you can get to a performance, it is a great opportunity to see some wonderful dancing.  You will also be supporting a local non-profit, which is a bonus.  Victoria Ballet Theatre's website can be found HERE.  Check it out!

Don't live in Victoria, check out your local area and see what they have.  I know in Baton Rouge we have a similar company that has several performances and events you can attend.

Do you have a passion project?  Something you just love to do, and it makes your heart happy?  Tell me about it below!

I have tons more to share, but for now, I'm leaving you with these.  I'll try to be back and share more of these gorgeous performers images!
