As a photographer, I take my camera almost everywhere. As a mom new to Baton Rouge, letting my littles explore the local attractions is always fun. So while it was hot, and I despise the heat, we set out to Rosewood Plantation on a whim last weekend.
It. Was. Stunning. Spanish Moss draped over century old oak trees. Green shutters framed floor to ceiling windows. Wooden rocking chairs on the old wooden porch. Gorgeous. I think I snapped about 200 pictures.
Mental note - This is a great spot for a session. It has so much character.
But that wasn't the point of the trip. We did the quick house tour, which was interesting but I couldn't get any pictures of the interior as it was a "no touch" zone, and the 1 and 2 year old didn't want to play that game. I recommend to anyone making the trip out there. So while the girls may not have cared for the tour, they loved playing on the grounds. There were very few people there and they had the freedom to walk the paths, play in the pebbles, play in the pebbles some more, and play in the pebbles some more. Lots of that. Oh, and climb in those cute rocking chairs.
Since I've finished editing all the pics thoughts I'd share a few more than I did on my Facebook page the other day. Hope you enjoy.
