Pas de Deux - Dance Photography Conference
In February I attended Pas de Deux, a conference for dance photography.
It was quite the experience, I had never been to a conference before. This one was in Austin, and I found it a few weeks before so I just decided to jump right in.
The keynote speaker was Lois Greenfield, um AMAZING!! Check her out, I bet you have seen her work before. https://www.loisgreenfield.com So when I say it was a big deal, I mean these are some remarkable photographers. The group there was also just a blast to chat with. So many different backgrounds and experience levels. Some were like me and had a dance background, more weren’t, but we all were drawn to the art of photography married to the stunning art form of dance.
The conference was a mixture of speakers, live demonstrations, and there were dancers there that gave us the opportunity to photograph while there. I truly couldn’t go to all the sessions I wanted while there, but I soaked it all up. The one thing that cramped this was that it was during the freeze and Austin was fridged at the time so we didn’t get to use the stunning scenery that Lost Pines offered.
I wanted to share a few of the images of these stunning dancers.

I know Reice because I photographer her company several times a year. I’ve had the opportunity to work with her a few times now, and she’s a blast to have in the studio. She is a smart, caring and lovely person inside and out and so I was very excited to do her senior portraits. When we arranged her session I was almost giddy, because Reice wanted to go with a space that was a little more industrial and it made for a fun and unique portrait session.
