A Beachside Fall Family Photo Session in Galveston | Houston Family Photographer

A beach session may not be what comes to mind when you think of fall family portraits, but it’s thing. And it is a BEAUTIFUL thing. When this momma asked me if I would meet them in Galveston I totally jumped on it.

The one thing I wasn’t prepared for was the fact that it was a VERY windy afternoon and the baby didn’t like the wind. So we adapted, and stayed near the dunes more. But not before we gave the water on our toes a quick try.

Look at that face of surprise. Too precious to not capture.

I am not a prop person. I really try to focus on the family, but I do always bring a blanket. Mainly to keep rear ends from getting dirty, but also for little kids like the youngest here, who aren’t yet walking.

For this session, the prop also became a way to stay warm. Big sister had a blast wrapping up in it. She had the biggest, most beautiful smile and it was infectious.

We also spent some time getting pictures with mom and dad, and even though the kids were a bit over it by this point, I think the images are a classic for any parent. Just a bit imperfect, but you can feel the love and cuddles.

Galveston isn’t close to Katy. However, it is on my list of favorite place to photograph. The elements that the beach add and the interest the kids have in the new environment is just perfect for family sessions.

It will be a location I start taking better advantage of for sure.
