Galveston Holiday Family Reunion | Katy, TX Lifestyle Family Photographer
I walked away from this Galveston family portrait session wanting to plan our next family holiday there. The members of this family all came together from multiple states to have Christmas on the beach. How much fun is that!
Yes, when I showed up things were a bit hectic. As to be expected before a session with so many people. Kids were everywhere, shoes were missing and last minute prep was under way. It was almost like the opening scene of Home Alone, but not THAT hectic.
I took some time to look around the beach and house to see what the lighting was like.
We started with some must have images, but quickly everyone was laughing and having a great time so I just started capturing it all. Formal wasn’t what we were after, in fact they wanted the outtakes included!
The pictures were so much fun. Other than the fact I forgot I had on shoes and walked in the water, it was one of those sessions that flew by and I had tons of images.
Up until then, I wouldn’t have thought that Galveston was a spot for a family holiday vacation. My time at this session completely changed my mind.

I know Reice because I photographer her company several times a year. I’ve had the opportunity to work with her a few times now, and she’s a blast to have in the studio. She is a smart, caring and lovely person inside and out and so I was very excited to do her senior portraits. When we arranged her session I was almost giddy, because Reice wanted to go with a space that was a little more industrial and it made for a fun and unique portrait session.
